Welcome to 48 Boroughgate B&BCoronavirus (Covid-19) statement We realise that many of our guests may be concerned about the current Coronavirus Pandemic. We would like to reassure you that: At time of writing (March 13th 2020) our region (Eden) has had ZERO reports of Covid-19. Also we are following to the letter the latest guidance we have received to ensure Guest safety, namely;
- We was all our laundry ourselves and we wash it at 40 degrees (we are advised that the virus cannot survive above 27 degrees).
- Every room gets a thorough clean after every use (they did before the outbreak) and all surfaces are disinfected.
- The windows are opened for extensive periods between guests to ensure they are thoroughly aired.
- Whenever possible, we are rotating rooms so that the same room is not used by different people two nights consecutively, this is so even if a virus were present, it would not survive for long enough to infect incoming guests.
On behalf of Fred and myself, welcome to Number 48, our Award-winning, Dog-Friendly, Boutique Bed & Breakfast, situated between the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Park . We are on the edge of the Westmorland Dales and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We hope to get the chance to meet you and have you sample our hospitality.We started three years ago B&B after completely renovating the property. Prior to his new career as a B&B host, Fred started a local micro-brewery, Appleby Brewery, and before that was a management consultant. Spending most of his life on aeroplanes, flying all over the world. I was an Assistant Head in a busy children’s centre. We decided that we would like to try a different life. And the idea of a B&B was born. I took early retirement in 2016, Fred did a brewing course in 2014 and left his highly pressurised career and here we are now. We are now enjoying meeting lots of new people and providing an experience which we would like to receive ourselves. Our aim was to create a warm, welcoming Boutique B&B which was Dog-Friendly and the sort of place we would like to visit ourselves. We bought the house in 2015, and it is fair to say it needed a lot of love at that point. Now the work is finished and we hope we have done the house justice, with our recent renovations in which we have invested 3 years of our lives to bring the house back to life. What you will find today is a quirky, Boutique, Dog-Friendly Bed & Breakfast and a very warm welcome. We are proud to have been awarded by TripAdvisor and the Local Tourist Board. Please look around. We hope to meet you soon Jeannie Mills
